I know many of you will be familiar with this picture, but I posted it anyway because it seemed so appropriate. I was just comparing the difference in the amount of time it took my mom and my dad to shop for groceries. Yes, groceries, not clothes or anything else. Oh, and yes, my dad's a great dad, he'll help my mom with grocery shopping.

Both of them usually shop at the same supermarket. But while my dad takes like..20 minutes to get everything into the cart and head to the cashier, my mom took 2 hours. Seriously. My dad's method is he writes everything down on a piece of paper and when there, zips of directly to the shelves and that's it. My mom doesnt need a shopping list. Haha. Her method is different. She'll go to the supermarket and slowly stroll around, and wonder if what's on the shelf will be of use to her...yep..that's how it goes.

It's amazing the way the LORD wired a male and female brain so differently.

I was thinking about it..and now I fianlly know why my blog is so dead. It has nothing to do with 'I don't have time..'..I know I do. It's just that everytime I think of something interesting, I'm too lazy to switch on the modem and my laptop to type it in. And when I'm finally online and decide to suen bian post on my blog, I can't remember what it was anymore, so I'll just go to youtube and watch korean dramas instead. Or read other blogs.

But anyway....yea..I do have something to post about now. Albeit its super duper laggy.

Sometime back, I went for my very first pedicure with Christie at Purple Phoenix. It was really good. Compared to other nail salons, the interior of Purple Phoenix was very simple. No shocking pink or girly frills anywhere. Just the parquet flooring, big comfortable seats, and soothing music.

It started with a nice hot foot bath, followed by a nail trim and buff. Then came the 3 coats of polish. All very professionally done.Oh, and they even served us tea. The polish covered every part of the nail and was neat in the sense that it didn't spill over to the skin. All for $18. I had no idea what a rare gem this place was until I tried another salon at Far East plaza the following week, this time with Minyi. I can't remember the name of the shop ( can't be bothered to either).

Happy Feet...done at purple phoenix

This salon had chandeliers (fake ones, of course), pink interiors and a nice glass wall giving you the view of Orchard road. But the service was so lousy. I had a manicure, Minyi had a pedi. No tea, no foot bath, terrible music. The nails weren't covered properly and were messy. And they collected payment before the nails were fully dried. Hence I had a nasty smudge on my right index finger. Cost me $10 too.

Apparently, Christie went to another salon too and her experience wasn't too good either.

I'm not gonna salon-hop anymore..............
