...cos I'm blessed with abundance

Ha! I'm finally back. December is such a hectic month. With Christmas on its way, there are so many things to get completed at the restaurant. Let's start with the cake boxes. My assignment was to transform the plain ol' white cake boxes into something presentable...hand-drawn, ok!!! haha..so anyway, basically i just drew a few poinsetias( is that how u spell it?) with leaves and sprinkled glitter around. Looked kinda good..too bad i forgot to take pictures..haha. It was fun, until i figured I had to do the same for 16 boxes. Spent my off day staring at glitter and calligraphing the words "merry christmas".

speaking of fesive seasons, i juz dyed my hair-again!!! haha..it's now something of a brown colour with a purplish tint. burgandy, it's called. haha. Loving it. Kinda obvious, in a not obvious way. Ok, that doesn't really make much sense. but anyway.....

Let's talk politics now. Just read the papers. Irritating. Makes my blood boil. The NKF thingy. Imagine all the donations and it didn't even go to the patients. 10%!!!! And all the money that's gone into paying for some rascal's first class seat!! Those below-average-income families that scringed and saved to donate to the needy patients...and somebody's remark that the $250,000 that was given was PEANUTS..maybe we should all start cultivating peanuts, and we'll all be overnight millionaires...talk about civics and morals...

Then again, i was going thru my sec 2 civics and moral education mock exam 2 days ago..just decided to read thru it before throwing it into the bin. I had a jolly good laugh. This was the first multiple choice qn:

When we identify our goals, we need to consider
A. other people's goals first
B. what we want in life
C. when we can achieve them
D. who will benefit most from it.

answer sheet's answer: B

If u ask me honestly, i think that's a totally selfish answer. so much so for civics and moral education. I'll use the NKF example. Mr TT Durai identified his goal by considering what he wanted in life. He wanted to be rich, to travel first class, to spend load. At the same time he didn't want to deplete his bank account. So he used NKF's money. Bingo! He practised what was taught.

The answer should be D. Who will benefit most from it. It's only when the goal benefits not only oneself, but others as well, that it is worth pursuing. That's what i've been thinking recently. I think i sound kinda philosophical..but oh well..don't u agree with me?

Wow..its been a long long time since i last updated my post. The previous weeks or so were hell on earth awful. Cried my eyes out ( and before any of u make any assumptions, NO NO NO..its nothing to do with romance, sheesh..is that all u ever think abt? haha) It was juz an awful time... I was basically getting so tired out and stressed out at work, thus not performing to my optimum and hence getting scolded...and getting even more stressed out... it was a cycle. And other assorted family problems and "religion" problems also started pouring in..all at the same time!!! So what to do?? Cry and..and..Oh ya..and ignore my blog.

Life can be a very painful process at times..ah well..Thank God it's mostly solved now..I mean..it's not exactly smooth sailing..but after a while, i kinda learnt that being a Christian doesn't mean being a Christian only when things go well, and blaming God for everything that doesn't. Like what one very close friend told me, "God will not give u a burden too heavy to carry". It certainly isn't easy, but i guess that's what faith is all about.

Thank you God for always being there for me...

" Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous but grievous, nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceble of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." My memory verse. =)
